To provide a cooker that properly detects boiling even with a fluorine-coated cooking container being used.
The cooker includes: a top plate 2 forming the outer shell; a heater 3 for heating a cooking container 1; a heating controller 4 for controlling the heating power of the heater 3; a temperature detector 5 for detecting temperatures of the cooking container 1; a vibration sensor 6 for detecting vibrations of the top plate 2, and a cooking container identifier 8 for identifying vibration characteristics of the cooking container 1 based on the detected values by the temperature detector 5 and the vibration sensor 6. The cooker is configured such that the control contents of the heating controller 4 vary according to the detected results by the cooking container identifier 8, which allows ways to detect boiling to switch according to the characteristics of the cooling container 1, thus preventing a delay in detection.
