PURPOSE: To provide the cooking device having excellent heating efficiency, heat resistance and corrosion resistance by subjecting the surface of an Fe-Cr-Al stainless steel to an oxidation treatment to form aluminum whiskers, thereby constituting the heating surface which comes into contact with or faces the food to be heated.
CONSTITUTION: The food 5 which is water and rice contained in an inside pot 4 to be heated by a gas burner 3, by which rice is cooked. The aluminum whiskers 9 are formed on the inside peripheral face, which comes into contact with the food 5, of the base material 8 of the inside pot 4 which is the Fe-Cr-Al stainless steel. The components of the stainless steel are limited to ≥12wt.% Cr and 28wt.% Cr and ≥1.0wt.% Al and ≤8.0wt.% Al. The pot is then held for ≥1hours at 850W1000°C in an oxidizing atomsphere such as the atmosphere, to which the pot is subjected to the high-temp. oxidation treatment and the aluminum whiskers of ≥1.0μm length are formed on the surface. The heating and cooking the time of food is thereby shortened and the uniform heating of the foode to be internal by far IR rays is enabled.
