Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a cooler for electronic apparatus involving a large variation of cooling load in which a heating element can be cooled down to a constant temperature without generating a temperature distribution.
SOLUTION: Refrigeration capacity is varied depending on the cooling load of a heating element 1 by bypassing hot gas refrigerant at the outlet of a compressor 3 through an electronic valve 11 to the outlet side of a cold plate 2 thereby regulating the opening of the electronic valve 11 depending on the heat generation rate of the heating element 1. Furthermore, a heater 14 for heating the outlet side piping of the cold plate 2 is provided, the temperature- sensitive tube 6 of a temperature expansion valve 5 is disposed on the downstream side of the heater 14 and the heat generation rate thereof is regulated depending on the heat generation rate of the heating element 1 thus preventing the refrigerant from being overheated at the outlet side of the cold plate.
