Title:
COOLING DEVICE FOR HEATING ELEMENT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3506050
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sufficiently and efficiently cool a heating element, while it is sufficiently cooled, even is a device is tilted.
SOLUTION: A housing part 23 of a case 22 is partitioned into upper part and lower part, with a semipermeable film 30 where air bubbles are allowed to pass, while no liquid is allowed to pass, and a switching element 42 and the semipermeable film 30 are sealed with a cooling liquid 28, which having a boiling point lower than the allowable operation atmosphere temperature of a switching element 42, shows high insulating characteristic. The cooling liquid 28 removes heat of the switching element 42 for vaporization, thus cooling the switching element 42. The vaporized cooling liquid 28 transmits the semi-permeable film 30 and is released upwardly, and then cooled with a liquid cooling device 50 and is liquefied. The cooling liquid 28 at the lower part of the housing part 23 is refilled from above via a communication pipe 27 even if it decreases. With the presence of the semipermeable film 30, no switching element 42 is exposed above the cooling liquid 20, even if a device is tilted.
