PURPOSE: To carry out dewatering completely with simple structure by arranging a dewatering roll, whose both ends move up and down along a running steel plate while the roll comes into contact with said high-temperature steel plate, at the entrance and exit part of a water cooling device for the steel plate.
CONSTITUTION: Dewatering rolls 7 are suspended with wires 3 through a trestle 4 opposite to a roller table 6, and are each slanted to left and right independently of one another in accordance with the shape of a steel plate. Therefore, both ends of bearings of each roll 7 move up and down independently and the roll 7 comes into contact with the surface of the steel plate, so that dewatering is carried out completely only by the roll 7 with the extremely simple structure.
