Title:
COOLING DEVICE OF PISTON FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3568136
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance cooling efficiency so as to suppress a temperature rise in a piston top part, by forming an annular cooling cavity outside a combustion chamber hollowing the piston top part, and setting up the center of a mountain- shaped distribution wall displaced by a prescribed amount relating to the center of a cooling nozzle jetting cooling oil to the cooling cavity.
SOLUTION: This cooling cavity 10, formed in a head part 2 of a piston 1, is formed by an annular cooling passage 12, intake port 11 communicating with the passage 12 to be orthogonal in almost T shape and a delivery port 13 provided in a position separated by almost 180° from the intake port 11. Oil from an oil pump 61 is circulated in a supply passage 62, to be jetted from a cooling nozzle 60, and the piston 1 is cooled. Here, in an internal top surface corresponding to the intake port 11 of the cooling passage 12, a mountain-shaped distribution wall 14 is formed by displacing its center to an intake side by the dimension H relating to the center of the nozzle 60. In this way, more amount of oil than the other is circulated in an exhaust side supplied to the intake port 11, so as to totally improve cooling efficiency.
