To cool a superconducting sensor element in a heat insulating container at a certain temperature for a certain time while restraining an effect of noise.SOLUTION: A cooling device comprises: a superconducting sensor element; a liquid refrigerant; a first container for housing the superconducting sensor element and the liquid refrigerant; a second container comprising a refrigerator for reliquefying the refrigerant evaporated in the first container, for housing the reliquefied refrigerant, and not in contact with the first container; and a tube for connecting the first container and the second container.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
