The cooling device 20 for cooling commodities W stored in commodity storage sheds 5a, 5b, 5c comprises a brine tank 23, a brine feed pipe 24, a brine return pipe 25, shed heat exchangers 26a, 26b, 26c and a pump 243 to be used for circulating brine between the inside and the outside of the commodity storage sheds 5a, 5b, 5c, the Stirling refrigerator 10 arranged outside the commodity storage sheds 5a, 5b, 5c, a cooler 21 and the brine tank 23 utilizing cold heat from the Stirling refrigerator 10 for cooling the brine, and shed heat exchangers 26a, 26b, 26c using the cooled brine for cooling air inside the commodity storage sheds 5a, 5b, 5c.
