Title:
COOLING METHOD FOR WELDED STEEL TUBE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3270719
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling method capable of preventing an uneven welding by a highly accurate distribution of the coolant in the peripheral direction at the outer side of a welded steel tube, keeping the temperature at the starting point of reducing mill process and the temperature deviation in the peripheral direction within an appropriate extent.
SOLUTION: In a method to forcefully cool down a jointing area of a steel tube 10, after its reducing mill process and before its pressure welding, by injecting the coolant 12 from a nozzle 11, to the jointing area of the steel tube. A slit 13 is installed between the nozzle and the jointing area, to adjust its slit width W and slit height H according to the size of high temperature area 16 including jointing area, and the coolant is injected from the nozzle to the jointing area through said slit.
