To provide a cooling structure in a motor for a refrigerator not causing deterioration of motor efficiency and not causing deterioration of cooling efficiency by a simple structure.
The cooling structure in a motor for a refrigerator is composed of a mist nozzle provided facing a stator outer circumference in a motor casing and jetting out liquid refrigerant like mist, a stator duct penetrating in a rotor direction from a casing side outer circumference in a stator to send the jetted mist like liquid refrigerant into a gap between a rotor and the stator, a temperature sensor measuring a temperature in the motor casing, an electromagnetically operated valve controlling a refrigerant amount jetted out from the mist nozzle, and a controller opening and closing the electromagnetically operated valve on receival of a signal from the temperature sensor and controlling the jetted amount of the refrigerant such that a temperature in the motor casing becomes constant. The refrigerant amount jetted out from the mist nozzle is controlled by opening and closing control of the electromagnetically operated valve by the controller, and it is controlled such that the temperature in the motor casing is constant by vaporization heat of the refrigerant hit and vaporized on a rotor outer circumference from the stator duct.
