Title:
COOLING SYSTEM FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2012102625
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To prevent superheating in an internal combustion engine with a plurality of cooling passages.

The cooling system for an internal combustion engine uses, as cooling water, a liquid made by mixing water and a predetermined component. The cooling system includes: a first passage 61 for circulating cooling water to a cylinder block 11; a second passage 62 for circulating cooling water to a cylinder head 21, the cooling water having the predetermined component of a different concentration from that of the first passage 61; communication passages 41, 43 for connecting the first passage 61 and the second passage 62; shutoff valves 42, 44 disposed in the communication passages 41, 43, respectively, and for circulating the cooling water when opened and shutting off the cooling water when closed; a detector 51 for detecting a temperature of the internal combustion engine 1; and a control device 50 configured to open the shut-off valves 42, 44 when the detected temperature of the internal combustion engine is equal to or more than a predetermined value.
