Abstract:
A cooling system for an underwater vehicle is provided with a sealed refrigerant circulation path having a liquid immersion tank disposed inside the pressure hull of the underwater vehicle, an external heat exchanger disposed outside the pressure hull, a supply pipe that connects the tank outlet of the liquid immersion tank and the inlet of the external heat exchanger, and a return pipe that connects the outlet of the external heat exchanger and the tank inlet of the liquid immersion tank. A heating element is immersed in the refrigerant inside the liquid immersion tank, and heat exchange between the refrigerant and water around the pressure hull is performed in the external heat exchanger, whereby the heating element is cooled.
