To provide a controller for a cooling unit of high versatility and serviceability regarding the cooling unit and a refrigerator using the cooling unit.
The controller has a main control part, an auxiliary control part, a control data storage memory and an extended communication connection part. The main control part and the auxiliary control part are connected in a two-way communicable manner by a communication line, and the extended communication connection part is installed on the communication line to allow two-way communication with the main control part. The main control part performs cooling control of the cooling unit using a parameter in the control data storage memory, and since data in the control data storage memory can be rewritten by an external control part, the controller for the cooling unit with high versatility and serviceability can be realized.
