PURPOSE: To make it possible to easily and precisely select the reference position by displacing an original document image on a copy as reguired via image shifter.
CONSTITUTION: Origianl document coincides with the regerence line disposed on the document tray in the center thereof, and concurrently the document is placed on the tray with a contour line on the tray which matches with the size of the document. Subseguently, index knobs 91a, 91b of image shifter are moved to align the index 89, 89 of operating panel therewith. With this shift motion, micro-switches 87, 90 which control the paper feed timing at the time of copying the front and back faces in response to the paper feed signal supplied via slide plates 99, 93 on which knobs 91a, 91b are disposed together with the cam disposed on the optical scanning system are interlocked and moved. Therefore the document image is moved on the copy as much an amount as reguired so that the reference position of the document can be easily and precisely selected
