PURPOSE: To obtain a copolymer having excellent electrical insulation property, adhesive property and heat resistance, by using p-isopropenylphenol and glycidyl methacrylate as the copolymer components.
CONSTITUTION: A copolymer whose essential components are p-isopropenylphenol and glycidyl methacrylate is pref. prepd. by means of radical polymn. because application properties of the copolymer obtd., such as heat resistance, adhesive property etc., are excellent. As the radical initiator for the above described polymn., especially an azo cpd. such as azobisisovaleronitrile is pref. used. As the acrylic monomers used other than p-isopropenylphenol and glycidyl methacrylate, acrylic acid and methacrylic acid, esters and amides thereof, acrylonitrile, methacrylonitrile etc. can be cited.
