PURPOSE: To obtain the titled coprecipitation product having high absorbability, improved solubility of cycloartenol ferulic acid ester which is a component of γ-oryzanol, and increased remedying effect to autonomic imbalance, by adding a specific amount of PVP to the ester.
CONSTITUTION: A coprecipitation product of cycloartenol ferulic acid ester and PVP can be produced by compounding 1pt.wt. of cycloartenol ferulic acid ester with ≥1pt.wt., preferably ≥3pts.wt. of PVP. The ester and PVP are dissolved in a solvent such as methanol, ethanol, etc., and the solution is adsorbed to a vehicle (e.g. gelatin, lactose, etc.). The ester is hardly soluble in water and has poor absorbability through the digestive tracts. The solubility and the absorbability through the digestive tracts can be improved and the pharmacological effects such as antiarteriosclerotic activity, gonadotropic activity, gonadotropic activity, etc., can be promoted by forming a coprecipitate.
