PURPOSE: To accurately control a copying device by providing the copying device control system with a portable external storage means, a connection mechanism, a connection state detecting means, an execution data updating means, an execution restricting means, and a regitering means.
CONSTITUTION: The detection means 13a detects connection between a memory card 4 and a connector 5 and the updating means 13d successively updates the copying frequency data of the card 4 is accordance with copying sequence. When the data to be updated coincide with the restricted copying frequency data of the card 4, a control means 13c restricts the execution of the copying sequence. When the copying sequence is normally ended, the copying frequency successively updated by the updating means 13d is updated and registered in the card 4 as a new copying frequency, and at the time of loading the card 4 next, the contents of the card 4 are read out as the initial execution data. The reproducing means 13d sets up the copying frequency and controlled copying frequency of the card 4 of the card 4 is allowed to rewrite them and newly reproduces the copying frequency of the card 4 and the restricted copying frequency to rewrite the control information of the card 4. Thus, the number of copies of respective section can be accurately controlled based upon the control information of the memory card by the constitution.
