PURPOSE: To simplify the direction changing mechanism of a copying paper and to make a copying device compact by controlling the movement of the copying paper by making a pair of inversion rollers and a pair of bias rollers disposed near the end part of a paper pocket cooperate with each other.
CONSTITUTION: A pair of inversion rollers 22 and 24 is disposed near the first end part 18 of the paper pocket 16 and a pair of bias roller 23 and 28 is disposed near the second end part 20 of the pocket 16. When the copying paper is passed through an entrance nip 33 between rollers 32 and 34 and it enters the pocket 16, the directions of the rollers 22 and 24 of the direction changing mechanism 38 are changed according to the movement of the desired paper. Besides, a controller is provided with a bypass exit for advancing the paper from the second end part 20 of the pocket 16 and a alternately moving it to a first exit nip 31 and a second exit nip 35 from the pocket 16 by instructing the rollers 23 and 28. Then, the direction of the paper is changed according to the respective cases of a copying action by a single-path such as the single- surface copying action or the monochromatic copying action, a copying action by a multi-path and a both-surface copying action.
