Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reactor core structure material used for a pebble-bed nuclear reactor capable of being operated for a long period of time.SOLUTION: A plurality of reactor core structure materials 10 are built up to form a pebble storage space 40 loaded with a plurality of pebbles 4 that are fuel balls. The reactor core structure materials 10 includes graphite blocks 20 and ceramic tiles 30. The graphite blocks 20 are composed of base materials 21 and ceramic coatings 22. The ceramic tiles 30 cover inner wall surfaces 20a of the graphite blocks 20 facing the pebble storage space 40. The graphite blocks 20 and the ceramic tiles 30 are connected by the holding of narrow portions 25 formed in the graphite blocks 20. Even when loads from the pebbles 4 concentrate on one point, the ceramic tiles 30 allow the loads to disperse, and the ceramic coatings 22 of the surfaces of the graphite blocks 20 can be prevented from being damaged.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
