PURPOSE: To perform printing of every kind without trouble even when a printing is performed using the dial wherein characters are arranged to one end of an imaginary body, by calculating the correction value of a printing position and that of an angle of rotation each time when a character is inputted.

CONSTITUTION: When printing is applied to the circumference of a circle using a left-handed dial, the correction value Δθ of an angle of rotation is calculated according to formula 1. If only the angle of rotation is merely corrected, a character penetrates in the interior of a circle of a radius (r). Therefore, it is necessary to move a printing position by ΔH. Herein, ≥H is calculated at first by an operation part 3 and, next, the correction value Δx of ΔH in an x-axis direction and the correction value Δy thereof in a y-axis direction are calculated according to formula 2. The prepared correction values are sent to a feed control means and an image rotary prism control means in the case of a photocomposing machine and become data for performing printing at a position where a feed system and an image rotary prism are moved and revoled by the correction values from a position printing a KANJI, a HIRAGANA and a KATAKANA. In the case of the input editing apparatus for a computer type photo composing machine, said correction values become data added to printing position data and angle-of-rotation data at the time of the output from the computer type composing machine to perform necessary correction.
