Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a corrosion preventing method for a crucible capable of inhibiting progress of corrosion of the crucible by a slug.
SOLUTION: An assistant including at least one kind of crucible components or a substance forming at least one kind of crucible components by chemical reaction is added to a molten object or molten metal. When a slug melting point is increased according to elution of a crucible material beyond a corrosion margin, elution of the crucible material is prevented. When the crucible is formed of alumina carbon, alumina powder/grain, metal aluminum, or the like is added as an assistant. The assistant amount is about 1-30 wt.% of the slug.
