Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve the corrosion resistance of zirconium or a zirconium alloy mainly containing zirconium under the environment high temp. pure water.
CONSTITUTION: A passive coating film of a zirconium-nickel multiple oxide (ZrNiO3) is formed on the surface of a member-having a surface composed of zirconium or the zirconium alloy by dipping the member into a mixed solution of sodium hydroxide, nickel hydroxide and lithium chloride at 90°C and electrolyzing.
