Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a dent having a combination of both high corrosion resistance and surface hardness.
CONSTITUTION: This dent is such that the matrix material consists of austenite stainless steel and at least of the surface layer is constituted of a nitrided hardened layer satisfying the following conditions: (A) virtually free from crystalline chromium nitride; and(B) 2-12wt.% of N atoms is present in the texture of the uppermost layer portion.
