Abstract:
PURPOSE: To improve corrosion resistance and surface hardness by forming the surface layer part of a base material, composed of austenitic stainless steel containing prescribed amounts of Cr or Mo, by using a prescribed nitrided and hardened layer, etc.
CONSTITUTION: This corrosion resisting table ware is formed by coating the surface layer part of a base material with a nitrided and hardened layer of 14-40μm thickness. The above base material is composed of an austenitic stainless steel containing, by weight, ≥22% Cr or ≥1.5% Mo. Further, the above nitrided and hardened layer is free from crystalline chromium nitride, or N atoms are contained by 2-12% in the austenite phase as a base phase.
