To provide a corrugated board cushioning material able to obtain excellent cushioning performance excellent in any direction without degrading its assemblage.
The side edges of two frame materials 1 and 2 are connected via a connecting piece 30 formed by cutting the one frame material 1. A crease 31 serving as a boundary between the frame material 1 and connecting piece 30 is extended obliquely relative to the side edge of the frame material 1. A crease 32 serving as a boundary between the other frame material 2 and the connecting piece 30 is bent opposite the other crease 31. Cushioning projections 15a, 15b, and 25b are formed on the ridges between side plates 12 and 22 and the base plates 11 and 21 of the frame materials 1 and 2 respectively so that their leading end edges intersect steps. While the connecting piece 30 is folded, the frame materials 1 and 2 are twisted by 90, each of the frame materials 1 and 2 is folded into the shape of an angular tube so that one frame material 1 wraps the other frame material 2. As the frame materials 1 and 2 are folded, the cushioning projections 15a, 15b, and 25a are projected. Thereby, the steps of the cushioning projections 15a, 15b, and 25a in the respective directions are oriented so that the corrugated board exhibits its maximum strength.
