PURPOSE: A cosmetic that contains pigments coated with fine amorphous silica films on the particles of the pigments, thus showing high stability to chemical agents, safety to skins and giving refreshing and milk fellings.

CONSTITUTION: An inorganic pigment selected from iron oxides, cobalt, manganese, chromium oxide pigments and ultramarine is used as a core and coated with fine amorphous silica deposited and, when necessary, subjected to hydrophobic treatment with an organosilica to improve its dispersibility, and stability. The resultant pigments are added to cosmetics. The amount of the silica coating films is 1W30wt%, preferably 2W20wt%, calculated as SiO2.

EFFECT: There is no anxiety of color changes in cosmetics to enable the cosmetic to be used with ease. The rolling effect is developed to improve the dispersibility of the pigment and the quality of the cosmetic.
