Abstract:
PURPOSE:To enhance the sealing ability of a propeller unit and to aim at reducing bending stress exerted to an inner shaft, by forming a front side propeller from metal, and by forming a rear side propeller from a composite material having a specific weight ratio less than that of the metal propeller so that the weight of the propeller is reduced and the deflection of the inner shaft is restrained. CONSTITUTION:Since a rear side propeller 11' is made of a composite material, the weight thereof may be reduced to 1/3-1/5 of the weight of rear side propellers in conventional counter-rotating propeller units. Accordingly, it is possible to restrain an inner shaft from being deflected. Further, it is also possible to restrain the eccentricity between the inner shaft and a sealing device 15 from being generated. Accordingly, no detertioration of seaing ability of a seal device 15 is incurred. Further, since the generation of deflection of the inner shaft 1 may be restrained, a large bending force exerted to the inner shaft 1 may be reduced, eccentric contact in the stern section bearing and bow section bearing is prevented from occurring, and therefore an oil film having a suitable thickness may be easily formed so that no deterioration of bearing performance is incurred.
