Abstract:
PURPOSE:To attain load dispersion or danger dispersion by coupling plural computer systems through external storage devices such as disk devices. CONSTITUTION:A disk control device 3 for a computer 1 is connected also to a computer 2 and a disk control device 4 for the computer 2 is also connected to the computer 1. Disk devices 5, 7 are connected to the disk control devices 3, 4 respectively and a disk device 6 is connected to both the disk control devices 3, 4. Said constitution makes it possible to access data in the disk device 6 from both the computers 1, 2. Namely, the data in the disk device 6 can be accessed from the computers 1, 2 through the disk control device 3 or 4. The disk control devices 3, 4 have programs to check the updating status of the data in the disk device 6 used in common and to control the operation so as to inhibit updating or reference from the other system when one system is in updating, so that the double updating of data from both the systems or the reference of uncomplete data in updating can be suppressed.
