Abstract:
To provide a coated cutting tool which is excellent in wear resistance and deposition resistance.SOLUTION: A coated cutting tool including a base material and a coating layer formed on the base material, in which the coating layer includes a lower layer and an upper layer formed on the lower layer. In the coated cutting tool, a composition of the lower layer is a composite compound layer having a composition represented by (TiAl)N (in this formula, x represents an atomic ratio of Al element to total of Ti element and Al element, and satisfies 0.3≤x≤0.7), and the lower layer has an average thickness of 0.2 μm or more and 5.0 μm or less. The upper layer comprises an AlN layer having an average thickness of 1.5 μm or more and 6.0 μm or less, and a ratio [I(002)/I(100)] of a diffraction peak intensity I(002) of a hexagonal crystal (002) plane of the upper layer to a diffraction peak intensity I(100) of a hexagonal crystal (100) plane by X-ray diffraction method is 5.0 or more.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
