Abstract:
To provide a cover gas composition having a reduced global warming coefficient and having low burning quality as a cover gas composition effective for preventing a phenomenon that the surface of a metal to be melted is contacted with the air and is oxidized or burnt in metal production, and a method for preventing a phenomenon that the surface of the metal to be melted is contacted with the air and is oxidized or burnt using the same.SOLUTION: A cover gas composition for preventing a phenomenon that the surface of a metal to be melted is contacted with the air and is oxidized or burnt comprises a protective gas containing hydrochlorofluoroolefin, and a method for preventing a phenomenon that the surface of the metal to be melted is contacted with the air and is oxidized or burnt comprises a process where the surface is fed with the cover gas composition.SELECTED DRAWING: None
