To eliminate any fear of a damage on a cylindrical member which is disposed in casting for the purpose of reinforcement, and provide a cover liner for inhibiting a decrease in temperature of the cylindrical member, which has been pre-heated, so as to smoothly introduce a molten metal, and a casting method using the cover liner.

A cylindrical. fiber mold 90 is pre-heated up to a predetermined temperature, and then, is disposed in a cover liner 10. Subsequently, the cover liner 10 is fitted around a columnar portion 44 of a second molding block 46 together with the cylindrical fiber mold 90. Next, a molten metal is supplied to a first cavity 40 and a second cavity 48 from a runner 42. At this time, the molten metal is introduced toward the outer periphery of the cylindrical fiber mold 90 along a slope 16 of the cover liner 10, thus inhibiting the molten metal from directly colliding against the inner circumferential surface of the cylindrical fiber mold 90. Consequently, it is possible to prevent any damage of the inner circumferential surface of the cylindrical fiber mold 90 caused by an impact due to collision with the molten metal or heat of the molten metal.
