PURPOSE: To reduce the cost of a cover plate particularly in application to a push-off clutch.

CONSTITUTION: This cover plate is a metallic, annular, dented clutch cover plate having a diaphragm, perticularly for a motor vehicle, of the type having a connecting zone 13 for connecting a substrate 2 generally oriented radially to an annular skirt 12 generally oriented axially. The cover plate is formed of two parts, or the substrate 2 fixed to the connecting zone 13 by a welded connection part 3 and the connecting zone 13 that is a part of the other part of the cover plate. The other part is provided with the annular skirt 12 integrated with the connecting zone. The second part of the cover plate can be a standard cover plate generally employed in a pull-off clutch.
