PURPOSE: To provide a covering composition consisting of a vinyl group-contg. polyorganosiloxane, a specified polyorganohydrogensiloxane and olatinum (compd.) and forming a cured product which can be readily peeled off from substrate.

CONSTITUTION: The curable compsn. consists of (A) vinyl group-contg. polyorganosiloxane having at least two vinyl groups linked to the silicon atom in one molecule, (B) polyorganohydrogensiloxane having hydrogen atoms averaging three or more in one moledule and used in such an amount that 0.5W10 Si- linked hydrogen atoms may be present per Si-linked vinyl group of A, and (C) platinum (compd.) in an amount of 0.2W300ppm of the total of A and B. Component B is controlled to the vapor pressure of 30Torr or higher. The covering compsn. shows reduced adhesiveness to, e.g., optical fiber and electric wire core and facilitates wire connection.
