Abstract:

PURPOSE: The titled surface material for interiors that is obtained by forming a thermoplastic elastomer composition which contains specific components and has a specific hardness into sheets, thus showing good flexibility and heat resistance and high adhesion to form sheets of an alpha-olefin resin.

CONSTITUTION: A thermoplastic elastomer composition of 70W95 hardness which is composed of (a) 100pts.wt. of a hydrogenated derivative of a block copolymer of the formula (A is polymer block of monovinyl substituted aromatic hydrocarbon; B is an elastomer polymer block of conjugated diene/ n is 1W5), (b) 50W1,500pts.wt. of an alpha-olefin resin, preferably isotactive polypropylene or a copolymer of propylene with another alpha-olefin, (c) 0W200pts.wt. of a softening agent for nonaromatic rubber, preferably nonaromatic mineral oil and (d) 0W900pts.wt. of inorganic fillers such as calcium carbonate and is formed into sheets. The resultant sheets are suitable for use as a surface material for interiors in vehicles and buildings.
