Title:
CRANK CONSTRUCTION FOR IN-PARALLEL MULTICYLINDER ENGINE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3656921
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve traction of a drive wheel by setting the arranged angles of respective crank pins relative to the rotational center of a crankshaft of even numbered cylinders of four or more so that explosions of the respective cylinders are at unequal intervals.
SOLUTION: Crank pins 11, 12 are on the same plane X passing through the rotational center O of a crankshaft 1, crank pins 13, 14 are on the same plane Y, respectively oppositely arranged relative to the rotational center O, and the positions of the crank pins 11-14 are set so that the plane Y is shifted by 45° relative to the plane X in the reverse direction of the rotating direction. Hereby explosions of the respective cylinders are repeated at unequal intervals. Unbalance between the crank pins 11, 14 and unbalance between the crank pins 12, 13 are generated in the direction of the middle angle of the planes X, Y so as to make the whole unbalance into a balanced state, and the primary couple of inertia applied to the crankshaft 1 is made to be nearly zero. Consequently, torque generated by engine rotation can be pulsatively varied, and traction of a drive wheel can be improved.
