PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crime prevention system that does not make an intruder perceive unnaturalness even for a long-term absence of a resident in a house by automatically turning on and off electric appliances installed in the house depending on a time period, season, weather and a location of the house.SOLUTION: A crime prevention system comprises a solar battery 20, and a device controller 10 controlling the operation of an electric appliance 30. The device controller 10 comprises: a detection unit 11 detecting output voltage data of the solar battery 20; a receiving unit 12 receiving data from a telecommunication network 40; an input unit 13 accepting an input of a user 50; a storage unit 14 storing time data received by the receiving unit 12 and time data accepted by the input unit 13; a calculation unit 17 determining the timing of operation start or operation stop of the electric appliance 30, on the basis of the output voltage data and the time data. When the user 50 sets a crime prevention mode for the purpose of crime prevention, the device controller 10 automatically controls the operation of the electric appliance 30, on the basis of a determination result of the calculation unit 17.
