The floodlight opening 2a side of an optical fiber sensor 2 is embedded in the inner part near the lower edge of a crimp edge 1, and the floodlight opening 2a is make visible from the side of the crimp edge 1. A floodlight direction is adjusted to cross at right angles with an installation surface (b) of wires (a) which are to be installed in a cavity V of a connector C, and also to pass through the axial center (c) of the wires (a). Additionally, the distance between the floodlight opening 2a and the surface of wires (a) in the position to be installed is adjusted as such a distance that the difference of light reflectances caused by the difference of colors of wire surfaces does not occur. As the sensor 2 is installed on the pressure contact edge 1 in this way, reflected light is received efficiently and closely to the sensor 2, and a precise inspection can be performed, and also there is no possibility of misjudgment caused by the difference of the colors of the wire surfaces.
