To provide a crosslinked metallocene compound for olefin polymerization, enabling an α-olefin polymer having a melting point higher than that of a polymer obtained by using a well-known metallocene compound to be synthesized; and to provide a method for polymerizing the olefin by using a catalyst containing the crosslinked metallocene compound.
The crosslinked metallocene compound is, for example, represented by general formula [1] (wherein, R1 and R2 are each selected from hydrogen, a hydrocarbon group, a silicon-containing group and a halogen-containing group, and the same or different; M is Ti, Zr or Hf; Q is a halogen, a hydrocarbon group, an anion ligand or a neutral ligand capable of coordinating by lone-pair electrons, and can be selected as a pair of the same or different kinds; n is an integer of 1-10; and j is an integer of 1-4).
