Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a crosslinking agent having improved adhesiveness and heat resistance by reacting 2,4,6-triisocyanatotoluene with a specified polyol.

CONSTITUTION: 2,4,6-Triisocyanatotoluene (A) is reacted with a polyol (B) selected among polyether polyols, polyester polyols, alkanepolyols and polycarbonate polyols and having an OH value of 56-1,867, and an average functionality of 1,2-2.2 and used in such an amount that 2.95-2.00 isocyanate groups of component A correspond to 1 OH group of component B at 10-100°C in an inert organic solvent to obtain a crosslinking agent for polymeric adhesives which has a residual 2,4,6-triisocyanatotoluene content of 1 wt.% or below based on the reaction product, and a viscosity of 3-1,000 mPas/25°C as measured with a Rotovico RV 12 made by Haake Germany.
