To provide a crusher, a waste treatment system, a modification method of a crusher, and a waste treatment method that enable more efficient waste treatment.SOLUTION: A crusher comprises: a crushing chamber in which fed waste is crushed using a crushing implement; a first discharge port provided below the crushing chamber; a screen which is arranged between the crushing implement and the first discharge port, and allows passing of fragments crushed into a prescribed size or smaller by the crushing implement; a foreign matter discharge passage communicating with the crushing chamber; a second discharge port provided below the foreign matter discharge passage; a gate which is arranged between the crushing chamber and the foreign matter discharge passage, and can be opened and closed between an open state for allowing the crushing state for allowing the crushing chamber to communicate with the foreign matter discharge passage, and a closed state for blocking the crushing chamber and the foreign matter discharge passage; and a blocking member which is arranged so that a gap between the gate in the closed state and a side wall of the crushing chamber or a side wall of the foreign matter discharge passage is at least partly blocked.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
