Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a crystal oscillator in which a secular change in its crystal vibrator is small and miniaturization and thin profile are attained by using an insulation terminal of a package of the crystal vibrator in common for a terminal of a board of the oscillator and sealing its crystal chip singly air- tightly with a 1st cover.
CONSTITUTION: A 1st cover for sealing a crystal chip 15 is sealed to a board 11 air-tightly at a sealing part to form the crystal vibrator. An atmosphere in a package containing the crystal chip 15 is a vacuum or inactive gas atmosphere. Since the crystal vibrator is formed on the board 11 as a single package, a very thin crystal vibrator structure is attained. On the other hand, an IC chip 13 for driving the crystal vibrator and a capacitor 17 are arranged on the board 11 and the IC chip 13 is connected to a pad 25 by a wire 23. Then the 1st cover covering a grounded crystal chip 15, the IC chip 13 and the capacitor 17 on the board 11 are covered by a 2nd cover. The 2nd cover aims at stabilizing the atmosphere in the package and the electromagnetic shield.
