Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing 5-hydroxy-1H-imidazole-4-carboxamide having few impurities and excellent in storage stability.SOLUTION: A method for producing 5-hydroxy-1H-imidazole-4-carboxamide 3/4 hydrate comprises: a step where 2-amino malonamide is reacted with a compound represented by general formula (1) (wherein each R independently represents a Calkyl group) in the presence of a carboxylic acid so as to obtain 5-hydroxy-1H-imidazole-4-carboxamide; a step where the thus-obtained 5-hydroxy-1H-imidazole-4-carboxamide is reacted with an acidic compound so as to obtain an acidic salt of 5-hydroxy-1H-imidazole-4-carboxamide or a hydrate thereof; and a step where the thus-obtained acidic salt of 5-hydroxy-1H-imidazole-4-carboxamide or a hydrate thereof is reacted with a salt in the presence of an acidic solvent.
