Title:
CULTURE OF ORNITHINE-PRODUCING MICROORGANISM AND CULTURE MATERIAL USING THEREFOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS6098990
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve the productivity of ornithine, by culturing an ornithine- producing microbial strain under irradiation of light containing the light of a specific wavelength range.

CONSTITUTION: An ornithine-producing microbial strain belonging to Microbacterium genus, Corynebacterium genus, Brevibacterium genus and Arthrobacter genus, is cultured to produce ornithin. The cultivation is carried out under irradiation of light containing the light of ≥280nm, preferably 280W600nm, especially 280W500nm wavelength. The intensity of the light is 1W100,000μw/cm2, and the irradiation is started at the logarithmic growth stage of the microorganisms in the cultivation system.
