Abstract:

To provide a water-based curable emulsion having excellent storage stability and giving a coating film excellent solvent resistance and water resis tance, and further staining resistance and whitening resistance.

There is provided with a curable water-based emulsion comprising a copolymer comprising structural units derived from (a) an alkoxysilyl- containing radically polymerizable monomer, (b) a radically polymerizable monomer copolymerizable therewith, (c) a radically polymerizable surfactant [the formula: Z-(AO)n-Y (wherein Z is an organic group having a radically polymerizable double bond; AO is an oxyalkylene; n is an integer of 2 or greater; and Y is an ionic dissociable group)], a block polymer obtained by polymerizing a polyoxyalkylene (meth)acrylate in the presence of a radical polymerization initiator having polydimethylsiloxane units and a plurality of azo groups in the main chain, and, optionally, dispersed colloidal silica.
