To provide a curable resin composition due to a new crosslinking system capable of reconciling hydrophilicity and water resistance, and an article treated therewith.

The curable resin composition includes a polymer having an N-vinylamide unit, a compound having two or more functional groups reacting with active hydrogen and a polyvalent metal compound as essential components. The functional group reacting with active hydrogen is at least one group selected from the group consisting of a methylol group, an isocyanate group, an epoxy group and an oxazoline group and the polyvalent metal compound contains zirconium as an essential element. The article treated with the curable resin composition is also disclosed.
