PURPOSE: To develop the curl antenna element whose design is easy.

CONSTITUTION: An outer circumference C of a curl element 2a of a curl antenna element 2 is selected to be (3/4)λ<C<(2/3)λ (λ is a wavelength of an antenna propagation wave), the number of turns of the element 2a is selected to be one to nearly 1.5 turn, and the element 2a is formed by forming a wire raw material as a curl, and a shaft element 2b is coupled with a wind start point S or a wind end point (e) of the curl element 2a, a current flows to the shaft element 2b and the curl element 2a so that radiation power from the shaft element 2b is superimposed on radiation power from the curl element 2a to shape a desired radiation beam thereby facilitating the antenna design.
