Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a current detection device capable of detecting a wide range of currents from a minute current to a large current, and an earth leakage circuit breaker using the same.SOLUTION: The current detection device comprises: a first current detection unit 3A for detecting a wide range of currents from a minute current region to a large current region flowing to the conductor wire of a current detection object; and a second current detection unit 3B for detecting currents of a minute current region flowing to the conductor wire that are smaller than those of the minute current region detected by the first current detection unit. The first current detection unit has one first magnetic core 11 enclosing the conductor wire, and a first excitation unit 13 of self-excited oscillation type for supplying an excitation current to a first excitation coil 12 wound around the first magnetic core. The second current detection unit has one second magnetic core 21 enclosing the conductor wire, and a second excitation unit 23 of separately-excited oscillation type for applying a rectangular wave voltage to a second excitation coil 22 wound around the second magnetic core.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
