To provide a current limiter which can more quickly supply a set voltage to a load in a state where its output current is not limited by the limit current of an operational amplifier.

A current limiting circuit is provided with a D/A converter 2A which outputs a voltage signal for supplying electric power to a load 11, an inverting amplifier circuit which amplifies the voltage signal, and a capacitor 10 which absorbs the fluctuation of the electric power supplied to the load 11. The limiting circuit is also provided with an operational amplifier 4B for setting the amplification factor of the inverting amplifier circuit, a transistor 5, and a resistor 3E. In the limiting circuit, a current detecting circuit 7 detects the current value inputted to the load 11 and computes the voltage at the current detecting position based on the detected current value and a CPU 1 sets a prescribed voltages. In addition, a comparator circuit 8 compares the set voltage value with the computed voltage value and changes the set amplification factor of the amplifier 4B based on the compared results.
