PURPOSE: To make a natural display which is discriminative by ANDing the output of a display data storage part with the inversion output of a cursor data storage part for suppressing display data, and further ORing the AND result with the output of a cursor shape storage part and making the display.

CONSTITUTION: The output of the display data storage part 100 stored with data to be displayed and the output of a cursor data storage part 101 stored with cursor data used to suppress the output from the storage part 100 are NOTed by an NOT circuit 103, whose output is supplied to an AND circuit 104. The AND signal of the circuit 104 and the output of a cursor data storage part 102 stored with data indicating the shape of the cursor are supplied to an OR circuit 105. The OR result data of the circuit 105 is displayed on a display part 106. Consequently, when the cursor overlaps with display contents, a natural discriminative display is made.
