PURPOSE: To speedily input an alteration of data and make the data input operation efficient by providing a cursor position changeable setting means which optionally sets the position of a cursor on a user side at the time of data input by an input means.

CONSTITUTION: This device is equipped with a hard disk 3 which is previously stored with a data control program for continuously recognizing input data on the basis of a cursor position on the display screen of a CRT 1 and input operation performed on a keyboard 2 in said state and a cursor position changeable setting program for enabling the position of the cursor at the time of the data input on the keyboard 2 to optionally be set on the user side and a CPU 4 which performs data input processing according to those programs. Therefore, the position of the cursor can be specified prior to the data input operation, so when actual data input (alteration) is performed, the cursor can be displayed at a desired position at each time.
